Anticoagulation Clinics

Coumadin is a commonly prescribed medication for conditions like atrial fibrillation, valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease, and strokes. This requires careful monitoring to keep the blood at a suitable range to prevent blood clots. The parameter that is utilized is called the International Normalized Ratio (INR). This office will monitor Coumadin to keep the INR at designated ratios for your particular condition. The Coumadin Clinic is run by the physician with the assistance of nursing personnel who have had wide experience in its management. For patients who are prescribed Coumadin, detailed instructions are provided at the time of initiation of this treatment and special dietary advice will also be given to avoid food/drug interactions.
