Hospital Services

Cardioversions:

Cardioversions are also called electrical cardioversions, generally done in a hospital. This procedure is utilized to convert abnormal rhythms to more regular rhythm, especially if medications have failed. This procedure is usually done as an outpatient, although there are times when a brief prior hospitalization is required for the initiation of certain drugs. This procedure is performed under light sedation anesthesia and involves the application of an electrical current to the outer wall of the chest. The success rate is extremely high and complications are very rare indeed.
