Martin Plavec, M.D.
Dr Plavec graduated among the top ten percent of the
class from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic in 1994. He completed
his residency at Griffin Hospital, Derby, CT in 2000 where he received
an award for the hardest working resident. He served as Chief Medical
Resident at Cleveland Clinic in Fort Lauderdale. He received the Chief
Resident Award presented by the Florida Chapter of the American College
of Physicians. Dr Plavec completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship
at Ochsner Clinic Foundation, New Orleans, Louisiana in 2004, serving
his last year at Chief Cardiology Fellow.
Dr Plavec’s interests include cardiovascular imaging,
including nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography
and implantation of permanent pacemakers. He is board certified in Internal
Medicine, Cardiology, Nuclear Cardiology and Echocardiography. Dr Plavec
is an attending physician at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Saint Raphael
Hospital in New Haven and Bridgeport Hospital.
Dr Plavec is married to Helena and they have two
children. He speaks English, Czech, Polish, and Russian.
